You can also expect teams to be familiar with all of the following encryption methods:

Morse Code
Nautical Flags
NATO Alphabet
Semaphore
Sign Language
Simple cryptograms
You are welcome to create puzzles that require equipment or knowledge not listed here, but there is no guarantee that teams will be prepared to solve your puzzles, which may cost you points.
The above list is a pretty good place to start when trying to decide what equipment to bring to the event.
Other items you must bring to the event:
6 copies of your paper only puzzle
Enough copies of your "Other" puzzle for 6 teams to simultaneously solve
Descriptions of how to solve your puzzles (6 copies of each solution)
Snacks and/or lunch items
Portable internet access will be allowed for this event. However it is not required that teams have internet access, nor will a wireless connection be provided.
